Testimonals

Thank you for believing in her when no one else did"
Tiferes Miriam truly changed
her life"

Our daughter was rejected by three high schools. They all said the same thing: "She could never pass the Regents." She felt hurt and discouraged. Then we found Tiferes Miriam. They accepted her with open arms. At the end of 9th grade, the smile on her face when she found out she passed her first Regents—with flying colors—said it all. She graduated with a Regents diploma and recently earned her master’s degree in special education. Now, she’s helping other kids overcome challenges, just like she did. Thank you, Tiferes Miriam, for believing in her when no one else did!

My daughter was extremely shy—she barely spoke at school and didn’t have any friends. We sent her to Tiferes Miriam so that she could gain confidence and connect with others. In 9th grade, she was still quiet, and we were nervous, but the school encouraged us to be patient. Over time, she began to speak more and build confidence. By 11th grade, she sang a solo in the choir, and by 12th grade, she was leading the school as G.O., singing and dancing in front of everyone. Tiferes Miriam truly changed her life.

Whenever life gets challenging, I can still hear my teacher's voice in my head, helping me face things with a good attitude"
I realized I was accepted
for who I was"

We searched everywhere for a school for our daughter. Her previous school didn’t want her anymore. They wouldn’t explain why—just that she didn’t fit in and we should find a “better place.” But they didn’t tell us where to look.

We reached out to over a dozen schools. Every one had a reason to say no: “Our classes are full,” “She’s not up to par academically,” or even, “If her last school didn’t want her, there must be more to the story.” With each rejection, I watched my daughter’s shoulders slump lower. After six months at home, she was not confident anymore. I barely recognized her.

Then we found Tiferes Miriam. From the first conversation with the principal, I knew we had finally found the right place. She truly “got” my daughter, asking thoughtful questions—not judgmental ones. Now, my daughter goes to school happily every day. Her confidence is growing, her smile has returned, and I feel like I’m finally getting my daughter back. Thank you, Tiferes Miriam.

I feel like I'm finally getting my daughter back, thank you Tiferes Miriam"

I was always told I couldn’t be in mainstream classes in elementary school. When I got to Tiferes Miriam, I was shocked when they put me in Regents classes! I didn’t think I could do it, but my teacher was so helpful and encouraging. I passed all of the Regents and got my Regents diploma. I had an amazing four years at Tiferes Miriam. I made great friends, learned so much, and had so much fun. But most importantly, I gained strong Hashkafos from my Limudei Kodesh classes, especially in 12th grade. Whenever life gets challenging, I can still hear my teacher’s voice in my head, helping me face things with a good attitude.

I’m so grateful I went to Tiferes Miriam. I miss it so much!

Before Tiferes Miriam, I went to a few different schools. Everyone tried to put me into a neat little box, but I didn’t fit—and no matter how hard I tried, I kept messing up. School was overwhelming, and I was angry and done with the system. My parents told me to try one more school. I went even though I really didn’t want to. Tiferes Miriam was different. When I tested them they didn’t get angry. There was always someone to talk to and they really wanted to make it work. Halfway through my first year, I stopped fighting. I realized I was accepted for who I was, and they weren’t trying to change me. I also found out that in a smaller class, with less noise and distraction, I could actually learn! I finally found success—in school and in making lifelong friends. I went to a mainstream seminary, had such a great experience that I stayed for Shana Bet, and now, Baruch Hashem, I’m married with a family and running my own business. I wouldn’t be who I am today without Tiferes Miriam.
